What guides DA councillors in their decisions on local government issues? Are there guidelines on particular local government issues?
Most often, councillors are confronted with policies and legislation that are imposed from national and provincial spheres of government. Or, councillors feel they are not given the opportunity to contribute to policy and legislation formulation. Or, councillors may feel that policies and legislation do not conform to their views on the issue.
ADAC provides a collective body, giving councillors the forum to develop local government policy that is relevant to local government practitioners. ADAC also encourages policy ideas that reflect the principles of the Democratic Alliance and our shared vision for effective local government.
